Gas phase pressure influence on the solid carbon anode oxidation speed

According to the electrochemical mechanism of reaction  for oxides reduction from the molten slag  by a solid carbon, its anode oxidation can be described as a sum reaction C+O2— – 2e=CO, which often is a limiting stage of all process. However, the influence of the gas phase pressure on kinetic parameters of this reaction, allowing more reliably describing its course and limiting stages, is still unclear. That is why the authors of this work suggested a kinetic scheme of the solid carbon anode oxidation process in oxide melt considering the pressure change.
