The refining of Fe melts from surface-active elements in gases under direct current electric field

The possibilities for Fe melts refining from surface-active elements by interelectrode transfer of their ions in gases were considered. They were evaluated according to the reduced ions mobility and electrons rates. The effect of pressure, temperature, electric field intensity and atom mass of elements were taken into account. The calculation results for elements transfer in helium were compared with the experimental ones. Their similarity and difference were explained. The transfer of multiatom ions was proved.
