ABSTRACT: A possibility of obtaining the metal composites of the Al-W system by mixing mechanically activated W particles in the aluminum melt and by dissolution of W-rods in the Al-melt at mechanical activation of the melt at 900°C was considered. It was revealed that only using the low-frequency processing of the composite melt allows achieving the positive result at the given temperature. The dependence of W content and sizes of the AlxW intermetallides in aluminum matrix on duration of low-frequency processing was determined.
