This article is devoted to spectral research of Sm(III) ions in molten alkali fluorides. Using spectal data, a coordination conditions of Sm(III) ions were estimated. It is proved that hypersensitive 6H5/2 →6F1/2 transition band shift of Sm(III) ion depend on second coordination sphere compound of [SmF6Mn] and [SmF6Mn – 1] complex groups. Low – frequency hypersensitive 6H5/2 → 6F1/2 transition band shift of Sm(III) ion is linked with bond covalency degree of [SmF6Mn] and [SmF6Mn – 1] complex groups and depends on cation compound of fluoride solution.
