Density and surface tension of sodium-borate melts containing mechanically activated additions of REM oxides

ABSTRACT:

The values for density and surface tension of sodium-borate melts, containing 1 wt% of mechanically activated REM oxides of the lanthanide group in the range of 800-1450K were determined by means of the laying drop method. The linear dependences of density and surface tension values on temperature were established, and their temperature coefficients were calculated. The effect of sodium oxide on the density and surface tension values was shown.
