Electrical conductivity of molten KAlCl4–ZrCl4 mixtures

ABSTRACT:

The specific electrical conductivity of the industry promising molten KAlCl4–ZrCl4 mixtures containing from 0 to 32.5 mol % ZrCl4 has been firstly measured as a function of temperature (from 345 to 500°С) with the original device. It was found that  the electrical conductivity of salt melts rises in the range of 0.41 to 0.80 S ⋅ cm–1 with both the increasing temperature and  ZrCl4 molar concentration decreasing.
